"This week I got to catch up with Gabriela and Tere Artigas, sisters devoted to sourcing and creating all things beautiful, be it expertly crafted handwoven scarves or the Gabriela Artigas jewelry line. The pair were in town presenting the Gabriele Artigas jewelry collection, an ever evolving series of limited edition pieces that challenge notions of texture, shape and modernity. Many of the pieces consist of "hand aged" or vintage metal chains, found objects and organic shapes cast in 14k gold. Each piece is handmade, often in the family showroom, Genessee, located in Los Angeles. After visits at the show and in the store, I stopped by a private sale they were hosting in a friend's East Village apartment, where I was hoping to check out another jewelry designer (more on that later). Of course, I couldn't resist the beautiful presentation and I snatched up a necklace from the 1311 line. It's made from beautiful woven antique metal chain with these exquisite pearl-colored white spheres and her signature tusk. It's only one of 10 produced and I love the idea of pairing this with a worn-in t-shirt and a pair of jeans."
"Today, I'm wearing it with my favorite gray long-sleeved tee and I absolutely love the juxtaposition of elegant and casual.
And a sneak peak of earings
which will be available later this year.
This is a first look, we can't tell you more."
